Wiseman’s success on the high school basketball court attracted the attention of numerous college basketball programs, but he ultimately committed to playing for the University of Memphis. Despite his commitment to Memphis, Wiseman ultimately played just three games for the team before declaring for the 2020 NBA draft.

On December 22, 2020, he made his NBA debut for the Brooklyn Nets with 19 points, six rebounds, and two steals at a 99–125 blowout rate. On January 27, 2021, in a 123–111 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Wiseman scored a season-high 25 points with six rebounds. On April 11, Wiseman was suffering from a torn right meniscus.
National team career – At the 2017 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Formosa, Argentina, Wiseman scored 11.4 points and five rebounds per game for the USA. He helped his team win the gold medal against Canada. Due to injury, Wiseman has been ruled out of the 2018 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup.
